So two things that make me happy
1) Ever since I let my little cousins listen to my LP CD they have sneakily been putting it in the player every day and humming the songs around the house. But the more they play it the more I hear and catch notes that were off. So the more they like the songs the more inquisitive I become as to why they like it so much. Maybe it’s because they’re untrained in listening for flaws or maybe they like the fact that it’s family singing. Either way it still makes me happy to bring joy to others.
2) Today the youngest (the brother) put on a pair of shorts, underwear on the outside, and a cape and ran around the house for about an hour pretending to be a superhero. The funny thing was that every time he got near his older sister, who’s 10, she’d scream and push away. He would then shout, “No! I’m not the bad guy! I’m a superhero!” Finally toward the end she pretended and shouted, “Help! Someone help me I’ve been robbed!” He came rushing down the stairs cape flying behind him, a whole 2 feet off the ground. But when he got there she once again stopped playing and pushed him away. You know, It didn’t really occur to me till just now but how many times do we do that in life? How many times does someone try to help us and we push them away? How many times does God try to help us saying, ” I’m not the bad guy! I’m the superhero!” and we push him away? Then when we break down and finally call for help he’s right there to be at our side, and we push him away again saying, “No. I got this, I got this.” When was the last time you accepted help with something? Sincerely listening.
